Your Gift will help reach close to
100,000 Young Musicians in three years
(and close to 35,000 the first year)

Here are the numbers:

Number of US secondary band & orchestra teachers
  • 52,500:  (NAfME: National Association for Music Education-NAfME)
Assume IR/LCE reaches 1% in Year One
  • 525 teachers will learn about the LCE/IR approach Year One.
Of these, assume 25% begin using IR/LCE in Year One
  • 131 band and orchestra teachers will start in Year One.
How many teachers will participate by the end of Year Three? (assuming same rate of uptake in all three years)
  • 393 teachers participate by Year Three (3 years @131 teachers/year): that's only .0075% of all band/orchestra teachers

How many students does each band/orchestra teacher teach?
  • 248: Average number of students each band/orchestra teacher teaches per year (US Dept. of Ed)
  • 32,488: students reached each year (131 teachers @248 students)
  • 97,464 students can be reached by the end of Year Three (3 years @2,488  students/yesar)

That's almost 100,000 young people - more than half the population of Salt Lake City - the IR/LCE approach will have helped on their way to becoming better musicians, students, parents, citizens, and models of awareness, responsibility, introspection, and willingness to reach for the next level up.
