Since IgniteResponse is a learner-centered approach, it makes sense to me to ask students "How do we get you to do what we want?"

Here's advice from young musicians who've played in orchestras I've conducted - and their friends.

Their advice is frank and insightful.
It gives a detailed road map for us to follow...
...that can't be found anywhere else.

Here's their advice in the most important areas (all comments are verbatim):
  • Qualities we most Value in our Conductors
  • Get us to Watch this way
  • Here's how to get us to Mark our Music
  • Correct Us like this
  • Here's how to get us Playing and Singing with Expression, Dynamics, and Enthusiasm!
  • Classroom Management: Here's How to get us Quiet
  • Please: Never do This
